I've stayed home from work today, or rather I started my commute but turned around. Damn cramps from hell. It used to be like clockwork when they came and went but now a year after surgery I've gone a few months without and a few very light twinges, but every once in a while it's like I'm being hit by a truck from the inside out. Sporadic and intense, it knocks me to the ground and takes the drugs forever to kick in. So I returned home, took some drugs and went back to bed for a couple of hours. At least now the edge is off. I feel like such a dweeb. I should have guessed it was coming 'cause I've been having a major blemish breakout for the last week - it's worse than being a teenager 'cause I never had blemish issues, not until into my thirtys which is when my hormones seem to have really decided to ratch it up a notch. Whine, whine, whine ... it's the pain it makes me irritable and bitchy, or perhaps more bitchy some would say!!!
So there's a winter storm warning for Calgary and Southern AB. It started raining as I was leaving for work. Rain we do need but it's not much above zero and the radar is full of lovely colors which mean heavy rains, sleet & snow is a coming depending where on the storm track you are. It's coming up from the States so I hope Michelle can manage to avoid it. She's on the road returning from visiting family in GA.
Tom's funeral service is Tuesday May 4th. The day after we arrive. Good to not drag it out any further for him mom, but bad for us and the jet lag we usually suffer after arriving.
