For my regular followers this is most likely the most boring of trip blogs yet. Nothing too exciting except for relaxing in the sun. Hardly any pictures either.
Funny thing, I deliberated about on the beach vs. not and we´ve yet to step onto the beach; however, I´m not sorry to have made that choice. It´s nice to hear the surf and have the openness of our view from above the beach. I think the non-beach resorts would have a closed in feeling, particularly if they were full.
New Years Eve was enjoyable, had a great dinner (maybe too great as Dave´s still a tad "off") and a very bad night of karoke in German. I did manage to talk Dave into getting up and singing. He chose Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison. Did pretty good for his first time. I video´d it so it´ll be interesting to hear the sound when we get back. As for me I begged off, I could barely breathe without sniffling, let alone try to sing and carry a tune. The funniest, or worst, was the young spanish girl who very enthusiastically sung not only in spanish but in english a number of times throughout the night ... even the germans were making faces.
January 1 was a very quiet day on the pool deck. Dave wasn´t feeling so hot by the afternoon and his afternoon nap turned into a full out sleep. I skipped dinner and let him sleep. It ended up to be a long one ... about 15 hours !!!
On the 2nd we did manage to go out for a walk up the road, across the highway to a ¨shopping¨ centre ... glorified tourist trap. It was good just to be moving a bit, then returned for more lounging. We did check out the quad/dune buggy tours - it´s on the list to do still.
Today more lounging. The cold is somewhat receding. The snot is free flowing and slowing. I would like to know - where does it all come from? It´s a scary thought considering what has come out of my nose these past few days. Last night I only woke up twice from my congestion / dry mouth. I´m hoping tonight will be even better.
Dave and I have a plan now for some real sightseeing. Tomorrow we´re taking the local bus down further south to the next resort area to check out the village for something different. Then on Tuesday we plan on doing the dune buggy tour ... looks like a lot of fun. We´re also considering renting a car for a day to tour the north & central part of the island - it looks doable in a day.
That´s all for now ... Buenos Notches! (Shana you´ll have to correct my spelling)

buenas noches
You say you begged off karaoke due to the cold like you actually might have considered it if you weren't sick. Would you?? My instinct first is NO - but then again - you DID sing on Rock Band..... so perhaps I must change my instinct???
We went to Bouwman & Giuli's for New Years - managed not to need Dr Oja's hangover advice - and had a good time, but I'll give you the other interesting details when you get home...!
Cam is painting the hall - it's the only renovating he's done since you left. My tree & decorations are down.
The herbs are not doing well. The ones on the ends that sprouted first have died, but the ones in the middle are now sprouted and still living - so far.
There's a Special K ad where the mom is wearing a red housecoat and bent over stoking the fire. The little girl comes down the stairs and yells SANTA....! The byline being "maybe you had a few too many treats over the holidays". That's where I'm at. Back to TOPS I go on Thursday. Unfortunately, Mini-Eggs were on sale for $1 at Save-On today and I bought 4 pkgs. Some things just can't be helped...
Glad your cold is abating. Hope Dave isn't picking it up!
Actually I just would have ... it´s easier when you don´t know anyone and they´re mostly German speaking!!!
You´ve got me piqued about the I´ll fill you in later bit ... hmmm.
As for the mini-eggs I completely understand I think they´re laced with crack or something because they´re so addictive.
