Hot & Humid in Houston

Greetings from The Woodlands! That's a suburb about 30 mins north of Houston. The flight was uneventful. No problems with getting the rental or finding our way to The Woodlands and our hotel. It's much quieter out here that I expected. Yesterday was 30, humid and no wind. Had time to take a dip in the pool, have dinner at Landry's a great seafood house (I had Clam Chowder and Avacado & Lump Crab Salad), then hit the grocery store for some supplies. Everything is very close to where our hotel is - a huge mall and a large array of restaurants to choose from. This morning was the adventure. I'm putting a complaint into Mapquest ... their directions SUCK!!! Thanks to Mapquest what should have been a 5 min drive ended up being over 30 min as we ended up on the I45 heading back to Houston ... getting off and then over to the other side to head north again was an adventure. No worries we ended up back where we started and with a little luck and good guess work we ended up where we needed to be. After work we hit the pool (the "we" being Cathy T a co-worker and I), then headed out. A quick trip into the mall, barely got throug one leg, then abandoned it to find dinner. Had mexican for lunch (soft chicken tacos) so we opted for seafood again. This time Rockfish and another wonderful meal. Today I had Roasted Red Pepper Crab Bisque and the Seafood Enchiladas ... mmmmm!!! I picked up a piece of Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory but I'm too full to eat it ... maybe for breakfast - it has all the food groups doesn't it????!!! Signing off ... I'm pooped. Going to read a bit then hit the pillows.
