The sun has finally arrived in Corfu!!!

Today is morning three and it's glorious. That's more like it!!! We arrived late Monday night from London. Stood around at the airport for an hour ... not happy! Seems our "ride" didn't show and I didn't bring the address as Dave's brother Martin was supposed to make arrangements. An hour later, an empty airport, just us and the taxi's. After some discussion of where the hotel was - I only knew the name, we headed out. Luckily we got it right. Arrive shortly after midnight to find a few in the hotel bar. Tuesday woke to a overcast day. Rained while we had breakfast. We headed out for a bit of a tour / drive with Pete & Julie, other wedding guests. Ended up in Corfu town. Much busier and more city like than I expected. Tons of tourists. The rain held off for the afternoon. Dave & I went for a swim upon our return --- quite chilly!!! Tuesdays are Greek night and the guests were treated to an evening of traditional Greek dancing. Wednesday woke to an overcast day again but dry which is good as it poured all night and the wedding is this afternoon. A very short but sweet ceremony at the town hall in Greek with an English translation. After holding up traffic as the wedding party and guests left (the roads are very narrow and winding here) back to the hotel for the reception. A lovely meal & drinks, followed by a few hours of respite before a buss arrived with the local friends for an evening of Karoke and more drinking. A fun night but long as the karoke was pretty bad on the whole. Thursday (today) we woke to a glorious sunny and warm day. It's been so cool the past few nights that last night I actually had to change out of my dress and into jeans and my coat!!! Just finished a late breakfast, thinking about hiring a car for the balance of our time here, maybe a swim. That about describes our plans for the balance of our time. It's all abou sun, san and surf ... if the weather cooperates!!! That and maybe the sun and air can clear out my lungs - I've developed a hack and wheeze due to pollen & smoke which the antihistamines aren't doing much to control. Oh well what do you do!!! Beach here I come .... until next time!
