Well it's been a while. Been to Tulameen and back. Had a great trip. The packing up of the furniture went well, had an awesome visit with Shana, then a great visit with the Puffers, only too bad it wasn't a tad warmer for Mich, a couple of long and tiring days of splitting wood (approx 5 cords!!!), then a couple relaxing days, for me, while my dad and Dave replaced the wood stove chimney stack. Of course the weather turned glorious a day after the Puffer's left, but at least I managed to come back looking tanned and relaxed even though I was exhausted. We did the return trip in two days, spending the night in Sorrento at friends of Dave's. A nice break to the drive. The truck did well considering how much wood it was carrying which Dave and I spent unloading and stacking upon our return.
July has come and gone. Typical Calgary it's been very volatile - lots of crazy thunderstorms with hail, funnel clouds and downpours. The furniture arrived and has mostly found a home, just a couple of chairs are in "storage" in the basement.
August long weekend has also come & gone. Worked two of three days and spent the third catching up on sleep and puttering ... nice way to end a long weekend.
Today it's Friday and I'm starting laundry. Sunday I head out to Fort Collins, CO for work. Will be returning on the 14th.
It's going to be a busy month. Dave's friend Rob is arriving from the UK on the 13th. The weekend of the 19-22 we're heading to Banff to play tourist guide. Another couple Dave & Joanna will be joining us for one night. On the 23rd we swap Rob at the airport for Shana who will be visiting until the 31st. Can't wait until she's here. She swears the trip was in the works for months and that it wasn't my needling, or is it whining, of no visitors that prompted her!!! LOL
Until the next time I have something to say ...
