A little summer between the monsoons

It's still monsooning, at least the weekends have been nice and most of the rain has been coming during the week.  Today a HUGE thunder and lightening storm roared through, heading east, with a little hail and a torrential down pour.  There were sightings of funnel clouds north of the city.

Movers are arriving at the house in Princeton on Friday to pick up the furniture so I'm driving out Thursday.  Been busy making lists and gathering supplies.  Need to bring some extra gear as I'm hoping the weather will cooperate and the Puffer's will come up to the cabin for a visit on the long weekend.  Accommodations are tiny so the tent will have to go up for Steve & the kids - Michelle doesn't do "camping".  Lucky for her she'll have her choice of the cot or the bottom bunk.

Shana's going to make a visit up first.  Her radiation finishes on Thursday - congrats!  She'll drive up Friday and come by the house first, then on Saturday we'll head over to the cabin.  I haven't been there in years so I'm kind of excited to be returning to the summers of my youth.  I'm thinking the lake will still be pretty cold as the weather hasn't been overly hot of late.  Shana will head back to Vcr on the 29th.  I'll probably make a run up to Merritt or Kamloops for some fresh supplies, maybe see if I can arrange a lunch/dinner date with friends in the area.  Dave will be driving out on the 1st.  Steve & Michelle & the kids hopefully will come up on the 2nd for a couple of nights.

We also need to address the roof repairs need.  My dad might come up to give us a hand with that.  Still need to work out weather the tin man can get us the sheeting for the roof in time.  May just have to pay the tin man to install but we'll see what can be arranged over the next week.

After visiting, relaxing, splitting and loading the truck with firewood we'll be returning home sometime around July 8-10 ... depends on how things go.

No internet access so you won't hear from me until I return.
Hopefully my plants survive my absence.
