Okay that sucks ... I somehow just deleted my entire draft I was writing .... lets try that again ....
It's been a week since returning from the UK and I guess I should have posted a confirmation of our return earlier - sorry! It took a few days to get my time clock back on schedule in the correct time zone. The day after returning I was back at Rona and Tuesday back at CRA. Monday I spent the day doing my normal appointments and errands.
The weather was summer like when we returned. Glorious and sunny with temperatures in the upper 20's but in true Calgary form, the closer we got to the long weekend to lower the temperatures went and the cooler the forecast for the weekend was. Fortunately the "S" word (snow) never materialized and today I have awoken to a gloriously sunny day.
To Tracy B & Ashley L - you owe us!!! Estelle, Erin & I have worked our butts of this weekend. Those two were smart to be away - whose great idea was it to have a scratch & save sale on a long weekend Saturday?!? I was the last to come on shift Saturday. I was lucky to find a parking spot, or should say my parking spot karma was in high gear when someone pulled out right in front of the main door as I was coming into the parking lot. There were seven people working the desk when I arrived at 12:45pm and there were at least 20 people in line ... utter KAOS ... and while it slowed it never stopped. When we closed the doors at 9pm I was now on my own and still had three customers to go. Yesterday Estelle spent most of the day organizing and sorting out the paperwork mess left over but even then there's still more to do today. That's the kicker to having people help you out - while it good at the time they don't do all the paperwork correctly and leave you a mess to sort through afterward. At least yesterday was more normal busy and most other things were cleared up. Hard to say how today will go with the weather ... may bring out the yard workers wanting patio sets, block, deck supplies, etc. to be ordered & delivered which will mean another busy day for us.
So why am I awake so early, well earlier for me, when I'm wiped out? Well my bladder woke me for the morning pee, actually let me sleep in until after 7 when 6am is my normal weekday getup time, and I could fall back to sleep. I figured I might as well get up and tackle some paperwork I've been ignoring since returning. First and foremost the vehicle registrations expire after May 31, only a week away, so I'm pushing it as it is renewing online. Here's hoping the stickers arrive in time!
With the bill paying done I guess I can make a real breakfast, not cereal, before getting ready and getting off to Rona for the day. Maybe the smell of bacon cooking will wake Dave from his slumber.
Hope everyone is well and enjoy the day!
