Hard Labour

Well our little family cabin in the woods has a case of Mountain Pine Beetle.  So in September we had a tree faller come in a take down 19 trees.  The trees were on average 70+ years old.  And take down is all they do, leaving the branches, needles and timber fall where it may.

Unfortunately (well not really) for me I had Rona commitments so I packed up food and sent Dave off with my brother Reid out to Tulameen where my dad met them for Thanksgiving weekend.

They spent two long days of cleaning, stacking and splitting wood.
It's strange looking now ... the poor old cabin seems so little and exposed on the lot now.

Here are a few pictures of the end results.  Still a bit more work to clean up some of the debris but we'll have firewood for years. They built a fortress wall surrounding the cabin ... stacking between the stumps that remain.

I owe Dave a turkey dinner as he sacrificed his weekend for me.
