Life goes on

Shana is doing well. The surgery went well and other than a minor reaction to the morphine, there were no complications. She stayed the night in the hospital and returned home Thursday mid-day. Shana's recent email update indicates she's been visited by the nurse to have her dressing changed and it looks good, slight irritation due to the adhesive on the "good" skin but most people experience that. Shana reports she's managed to get out for a couple of little trips, watched a bit of flyball and visited with friends. One day at a time. She has an appointment with her surgeon this Friday and hopefully the pathology report will be in with a treatment (chemo) plan.
Yesterday was Sherry P's b-day. Happy b-day Lucy!!! Interesting thing - running joke between us is she's Lucy & Ethel (from the Lucille Ball show), I never knew my grandmother's middle name ... lo and behold on the memorium write up ... it's Ella Ethel Chamberlain (Freer). I thought it was an interesting coincidence.
Today I had my interview for the promotion I applied for. It was one of those touchy, feeling interviews ... the ones where you're never sure if you've said too much or not enough, not enough detail ... anyways it's over but for the last of the waiting. Won't hear for a couple more weeks as the last interview isn't until next Wednesday.
Nothing else exciting. The weather is gorgeous. I'm afraid to say too hot during the day (28-30) but a nice temperature overnight and in the morning. Here's hoping summer stays with us a while longer.
Until next time ...
