Our time in paradise is ending

Today is our last day ... we're not ready to come home !!! We haven't done much since our last blog other than relax in the sun, sand & water. The island nite on Aitutaki was fun ... particularily the 5 yr old girl doing her dance. On the 29th we returned to Rarotonga. The place we were booked into was rather disappointing ... no one there, no bar, no restaurant, all closed. After stewing for a bit I called the local travel agent and had us moved over to another place. Much improved. From our bungalow we could actually see reef, there was a lovely pool, and beachside bar/restaurant. Sometimes it pays to ask. We were treated to an amazing sunset that first night ... a nice change from our last visit to Rarotonga. Jan 30 (yesterday) morning we headed off for a mountain safari ... unfortunately part way through the morning the rain clouds came in and the heavens opened up making the mountain tracks into mud pits and not accessible. Lunch was good but it made for an expensive lunch!!! Oh well what can you do. After a nap the sun returned for a late afternoon show. Dave's getting his fill of snorkeling and I'm reading up a storm. Jan 31 (Saturday) Today is market day in town. We've taken the bus into town and have spent the morning wandering and shopping in the market. I've seeked some refuge from the heat and humidity by finding this internet cafe ... it's air conditioned ... ahhhhhh All that's left now is finding lunch, maybe a dip in the sea and/or pool before we must pack and get ready for departure. Our last event will be another island nite and dinner at our resort before the shuttle picks us up for our midnight flight out to Los Angeles. Next time I post we'll be home (hopefully without delay in LA).
